Title: Superbowl
Post by: shobet on February 06, 2011, 08:37:11 PM
Anyone else daft enough to be staying up to watch all of this tonight?

I used to love watching NFL games on channel 4 back in my youth with that bloke with a beard who looked like he was in Godley and Creme ...

Last one I stayed up to watch was when I was visiting a friend who was at Manchester University. It was in the mid 90's. I have a recollection of Rory Bremner being involved in the studio at half time. What he said is a little vague but I do recall there being some OJ Simpson jokes in there - the American studio presenter was trying to divert attention away from him but it didn't really work.

I like American Football and it's growing a lot in audience on Brazil...
But I'm going work soon ¬¬

Makes me think that if it's usually late enough for Brazil, imagine in England that are 3-4 hours "later"...

But I hate all that unending commercial brakes

I watched a few in he 1980's and remember players 'The Fridge,' Joe Montanna, John Elway and Dan Marino.

Can't remember the beardy fella though.

Didn't stay up to watch it last night though, it's not the same when you're not playing with a Pocket Simon or Technic
Lego while you watch it.....

I tried to watch the superbowl about 8 years ago.  It was shitee and I haven't tried to watch it since.

Maybe I'll give the highlights a try if they show them, but there's just too many stoppages to warrent watching it live.

Who won anyway?

Nicky Horne wasn't it?

I did watch a bit of the Superbowl (until the Black Eyed Peas drove me to the "off" button).  But I can't be doing with it really, all that clock-stopping drives me mad and I find the rules utterly incomprehensible.  Same applies to most American sports.

The game was good, and intense. BEPs were absolutely shite that I had to look at Prince's performance WHILST they were on just to survive.

I was going for the Steelers :(

But those touchdown passes were good enough to watch the whole thing.

I like the fact the packers are owned by the fans and not some billionaire owner who's got money to spend on some vanity project as he's bored.

I heard Slash and the Black Eyed Peas did a horrible version of Sweet Child O' Mine?

Fergie can not $%&#ing sing at all, she would be better as a mime.

Prince still rocks the best performance at the Superbowl.
