Have it. Love it.

You can hear it all over the Phantom Isle tracks, particularly this one:

i was considering this a few years ago.. one thing to note is.. i seem to remember it not being stereo but dual mono.. i think thats what swung me to get the tc electronics nova delay instead.. i cant recommend the nova delay enough.. best delay ive had.

This is not delay, it's echo.

I have one. I mostly use it for slapback.

It's a very authentic sounding tape echo simulator, including tape wobble, saturation etc. pretty much all the quirks that you get with a tape echo except the maintanance, finding tapes, reliability issues and the bulk.

If you're thinking about using it for U2-ish stuff, you're better off with a regular digital unit.

well, i'm looking for something which will give me a more psychedelic(!) tone for some space rock

this looked intriguing..

but i'm also wondering about a leslie simulator, or perhaps some kind of spacey chorus.

It'll do psychedelic stuff. You can hook up an expression pedal to it and program it to one of the controls. You can turn the expression pedal into the gas pedal for your UFO.

I like them for these old tape echo-sounds. They do U2-stuff well too.

no: its a space echo

i guess delay was the nearest they could come to it for classification purposes.

anyway, i've checked what you can do with it on some youtube videos and also by looking at the manual. it seems like just the sort of think i was thinking of. D'n'L's clip sounded quite authentic to me. so i do fancy one - its a bit expensive though, so i'm looking out on the bay. Thanks D'n'L and Ratrod for your thoughts

Alternatively there's the Strymon El Capistan.

(I hope I spelled that right)

El Capistan is a totally different animal.

It's also VERY pricey and hard to obtain. I've been after one for a while now.

I own the el capistan and it's phenominal, well worth the money, best delay I've ever owned, not planning on ever selling it either even if it means starvation
