Post by: hincks on February 24, 2011, 06:42:48 AM
im new to the forum so forgive me if this question has already been asked BUT... it says on the site that an alcino warpig has a d.c. resistance of 21.5 but whats the d.c. resistance on a CERAMIC warpig ?? does anyone know for sure ???

the DC resistance is the same but the output is higher because of the stronger  field of the ceramic magnet... I guess

VisitorQ is correct, but to expand - DC resistance is only related to the wire gauge and number of turns, so changing the magnet will not affect it.

Since all BKP are wound by hand every set should vary. I also think they wind them to suit your guitar. I ordered a warpig set with ceramic bridge for my soloist and it came out at 22k with the neck (alnico) at 21.5k.

with the neck (alnico) at 21.5k.

Are you sure? That's the average heat for the bridge WP. The neck averages at 17.4 and I don't think there's that much of a margin for fluctuation in the DC range.
