Hey guys, I was looking for some pickups for my Ibanez SZ 1220 Prestige. Its basically Ibanez's answer to PRS, so it has a mahogany body, thick flamed maple cap and a set mahogany neck with strings through body.
I play mostly modern metalcore, so bands like August Burns Red, Parkway Drive and Killswitch Engage.
In the bridge, I'm looking for a pickup with a lot of output, a really good chunky tone when palm muting and with great harmonics, but not active sounding as I already have blackouts on my other Ibanez. For the bridge, the clean tones aren't important.
For the neck, I want a really smooth sounding humbucker that has a fluid tone for sweeping and legato playing and also cleans up fairly nicely too.
I am currently tuned to E standard/drop D, but I may tune it down to drop C or lower in the future, so the ability to handle lower tuning would be a plus.
So what would you guys recommend?

I was thinking about the Miracle Man, but I've heard it sounds quite 'active' (if that makes sense?) and that was something I was looking to avoid.

I've also seen a Nailbomb set on ebay for a good price (Ceramic Bridge, Alnico Neck), would these do what I want or am i better off saving up for a different set?

You wouldnt go wrong with that, per se, but the MMs would be better suited.
PS all the band you mentioned use EMGs
Not that I'm talking you out of BKs, but you clearly in fact do like 'the active sound'!

I am a fan of the active sound, but this time i was looking for something different as I already have a set of actives on another guitar. If it helps, I would also like the really organic sounding metal tone Lamb of God have.

You should be fine with the miracle men then :)
(though I'd go for nailbombs or even rebel yells for lamb of god specifically).
