I'm very tempted to order this (the pictures don't quite do it justice) at the end of the month with the money I make from doing overtime, I'd like to stick a chrome Bigsby, some chrome locking tuners, a tonepros locking tunomatic, chrome pickup rings and the black etched BKPs in it, I think that'll work pretty well.
Any ideas as to which pickups though? I'm thinking probably mules, would I be able to get a Wes Montgomeryish tone out of the neck with them? I know they'd be able to rock pretty hard in the bridge position, so that's no concern to me.

My local has one of those, it's quite a nice sounding/playing guitar. I'm not too keen on the colours, although it would be cool to see someone play Slayer on it.
Personally, if I were to go for a JazzBox/ArchTop of any sort it would have to be flat red or Sunburst with a flame maple top.

I know I have G.A.S. :?
If you're interested in reasonably priced archtops, you might wanna check out the Dean Psychobilly www.deanguitars.com or those new sparrowguitars, those have amazing finishes! They're also planning for a 6120 guitar. www.sparrowguitars.com
Personally I'm not to keen about Ibanez.

:guitar4: If your into Wes Montgomery you`d be Windy not gasy ! As for the guitar it looks good but all Ibanez guitars look good. Remember you get what you pay for. i own a Ibanez Studio 55 and have owned a RG470 both where resonably robust & the St55 is still going strong As for P/U change i`d put in Stormy Mondays very low gain but all tone talk to Tim He`ll give you the right advice 8)

I'm not familiar with Wes.
G.A.S. = Guitar Aquisition Syndrome

Those sparrows look amazing, dammit! I get the feeling I'd be laying down more than 300 bones for one though, but the pinstriping on that big hollow body is lovely.

I've asked them about the pricing on their Rat Rod guitar.
Basic Asian: 499 Canadian Dollars,
Asian with Kent Armstrongs (whatever type you want) and Grover tuners: 599 Canadian Dollars,
Canadian built with Kent's and Grovers: 1299 Canadian Dollars.
All of 'em are hand airbrushed by a Canadian guy and checked by a Canadian luthier. Not bad eh? Something worth thinking aboot. :wink:

Especially for that money, they're not joking when they say they're building for people who need good affordable instruments!

I'd love to get me one of them Rat Rods. Not sure about the pickups yet but they will definatly be BKP's. I'm thinking warpigs or some kind of chrome covered hot rodded PAF's with somekind of etching it that goes with the hot rod theme. But I'm also curious about that 6120 they're working on! So many choises :cry: The guy from Sparrow I mailed with talked about a white falcon with green pinstripes, classy 8)
