perfect beginning, very sad ending , it would seem.

That's just depressing, really. Eddie makes his choices poorly and that's just about it. Could have everything in the world if he wasn't so self-centered and lazy.
-
Nuts, but it would be interesting to hear all 4 sides of the story.
-
i suspect EVH and Charlie Sheen have a few things in common at times
-
This is Hagars story, but nevertheless lot of (sad) rock'n'roll.
-
I'll definitely be buying the book.
Hagar is one of my fav vocalists.
-
I got into Van Halen via Sammy Hagar (he did guest vocals on "amnesty is granted" by Meat Loaf)
reading the bio excerpts paints the picture of a man controlled by his demons.
-
Looks like roth and hagar can finally agree on something !

This was filmed by a friend of mine who flew to Las Vegas just to see VAn Halen
He was in for a disappointment
Video and audio have not been altered- this is a straight upload of what he filmed

Ouch. I couldn't make it past 0:49 where he drunkenly trips on his cables and almost takes a header into the drum riser. That's pretty painful to watch considering the heights he reached in his early career. :(
I was never much of a Van Hagar fan, but despite my apathy towards the music he made with them I don't for a second doubt that Sammy Hagar's version of events is accurate.

+1
From #10 onwards is just horrible to read - and these are only excerpts. I dread to think what the whole book reads like...

Sadly, I believe Hagar is probably 98% right and accurate in his description. I happen to have a rather reliable source in California who was involved in, uhm, "medical stuff" concerning Eddie. 'Nuff said. The guy basically destroyed his body with alcohol. He was in his mid-fourties when he needed the hip-replacement.

Damn! I wrote that piece.. I want my royalties.

Just watched some youtube clips of the 2004 tour. He looks seriously f@cked. I had no idea he was in that bad a state. There was one clip where Hagar took a bit too much of an obvious detour around him.
I may well have to get myself this book. Everything I read about Hagar tells me he would be great to hang out with and have a few beers with. Not that I'll ever get the chance of course.

The best part of this is the comment on the video: He needs better gear!!!!
