Thought some folk on the forum might be interested in these?

Not tried one, but I can definitely understand the appeal.
I does seem that Gibson (probably more by luck than judgement) have finally managed to produce a version of the Les Paul that is marketable.

got an email from them last week letting me know that they were only getting 10 in stock & did I want one...sooooooooooo tempted!
-
The thing with this Les Paul is that it comes in at the right price and doesn't look like a budget model (judging from the web-pictures).
If it plays nice and looks as good in the flesh, I'd be very tempted - love Goldtops.

The fact that it comes with an unbound fret board is definitely a plus in my book. I hate it when Gibson leave the plastic ends of the binding on the sides of the frets. High E can get stuck in there very easily. Also makes refrets more expensive.
These guitars sure look great and are amazing bang for the buck. I would put some mini humbuckers in there and rock out!

Very nice indeed. There is an ex demo one (not goldtop though) on sale in Guitar Village for £699.
-
Did anyone else see the one PMT had at the Birmingham guitar show a couple of weeks ago? Very nice and I'm sure it was only £650 I think.

Or Supermassives. :D

is the difference between the 50s and 60s version just the neck style? (fat/thin)

to say I'm tempted would be an understatement - same deal with the Les Paul juniors for £650

Dangerous - very dangerous! I'm trying to resist but will be getting a bonus tomorrow. Oh dear.
