Was caused by Sylosis dropping Edge of the Earth today. What a great album. I really enjoyed Conclusion of an Age and was nervous about Josh Middleton on vocals, but he's really good. Has a darker voice with more depth. I'm about halfway through the album right now. Really good stuff.

i played a show with these guys in 2007, they were pretty bad ass then, so i checked out their album but it didnt really do it for me at the time. This stuff is way better, definately improved over the years

Dont you think thats a little insensitive due to the mass destruction, deaths, injuries and losses that the earthquake has caused?
-
Yeah. I was expecting a decent topic discussion, not a joke about it.
Sorry, but that's just wrong.

I don't think JacksonRR meant any disrespect but I have to agree with the above.
It's a tragic event. Not something to be taken lightly.

I agree with the above. I'm sure there was no offence intended but it is pretty bad taste. Personally I'd like to see this thread deleted.

Alright, I'm gonna have to apologize to anyone who didn't take it as a tongue in cheek kinda thing. I do select bad taste at times. I guess these are the sorts of connections I should make with close friends. Yeah, no serious disrespect was meant. I was watching a whole ton of vids of the tsunamis just rolling over the land while listening earlier. Pretty brutal stuff. It just seemed like the water was never gonna stop. Of course I don't find that funny. Again, delete the thread if it's taken so harshly. I didn't think it would go this route. Feel like a jackass now.

I didnt mean to single you out or anything.
I just thought it was definitely in bad taste, disrespectful and i was just generally shocked

Sometimes we forget or overlook the incredible forces involved in nature that only rear their heads in the form of a disaster for humans.
My thoughts are with the poor folks around the world affected by this - both those directly affected and those with friends or family in peril.
Makes any problems I have seem totally insignificant by comparison

I agree 100% with everything you say there

This is true.
Especially the last.
No harm done, randy, we all have lapses in judgement from time to time.
OK, pain suffering and destruction very bad, not to be made light of to agrandise an album, or at all. Settled! Can we talk about metal now?
I see they've taken to detuning; good. Fits their style better, and joshes lower voice well. It does tickle me that they took pride in keeping the 80s thrash E standard alive, while being massively influenced by bands that detune 1 - 2.5 steps! I like it much better now. It was one of my main misgivings about their older stuff; all in or near standard, but the playing styles being so similar to bands that detune, it felt weird and wrong, even though their music can be pretty good.

Thanks. I'll try not to do it again.
I really enjoy Josh's solos and passages. Sort of a planned noodling. It's like he plays with the idea for a bit before it takes some shape sometimes.

:drink: We've all done it at some point or other. I lost a few friends once by poking fun at a couple of guys from my school who killed themselves driving. Hindsight is 20:20 after all.
Never actually heard of the band but looks interesting...
