Title: NGD
Post by: Mr. Air on March 16, 2011, 03:02:48 PM
It has been a while since I had one of these so I'm real excited.

It's a VGS Roadcruiser (strat copy) that I got off the German ebay. I haven't played the guitar a lot yet, but it seems to me to be a pretty decent guitar and excellent bang for buck. I got it for 190 Euro including shipping and they sell at 330 Euro.

Here's the specs from the VGS homepage

Solid, American Alder body
Bolt-on, 1-part Maple neck, matt vintage finish
25,5" = 648 mm scale, 43 mm neck width at nut
Rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets
Passive EMG HZ pickups: 2 x SC-1 Single-coils, 1 x OC-1B Humbucker
5-way switch, Master volume, Master tone
Standard 2-hole vibrato
3-ply pickguard
Diecast machine heads
Ash top
Chrome plated hardware

It's i great condition and has not been played much but it's original owner. Only noticeable flaw so far is a small paint chip at the strap button at the end of the guitar.

The EMGs are pretty bland pickups - nor good or bad I would say, but luckily I got a Stormy Monday bridge and a middle and neck Apache lying around and they are going in there (hopefully soon).

Looks like one hell of a guitar for the money. Lovely colour. Some clips please when the BKs are in.

for less than the price of a warmoth neck or a set of bkp's you really can't lose; looks good too.

Never heard of the VGS brand, but it looks really good!  Nice quality rosewood, love the ash top and the hardware looks decent too.  :D

I'll make sure to post some clips once the BKPs are in. Can't really motivate myself to do it tonight. That might sound strange, but I'm no hero with a soldering iron so it will have to wait. Maybe I can find some time in the weekend.

And thanks for all the nice comments on the guitar  :D

Not strange at all.  If it was me, I'd be giving at least another year or two.

Indeed! I got a BYOC pedal at Christmas and it's still not been built yet! Will have to find some motivation soon.
