Hey guys just wondering what pickups all you Horizon nt-II/FR owners have and how its affected the tonewood as i've still got the duncans in and wondering how you guys all got on with your sound after the swap,

What are you looking for, tone-wise. I've done Miracle Man, VHII, and Holy Diver -- all sound great, but all are different. What kind of amp are you using? Musical style?

Well im currently tuned down to Full D/Drop C using 11-56 gauge strings. The Duncans seem a little weak now i've detuned. I play alot of Melodic metal, lead and rhythm. was wanting a neck pickup that can handle sweeps, but will produce a full bodied tone on clean.
Bridge wise im looking for something screaming lead style, was looking at the miracle man and painkiller but i was worried it might all sound too bright what with the guitar already being mapleneck ebony board maple cap?
Amp currently is a Marshall DSL 100
looking to change it up for an ENGL or a Peavy in the not so distant future
also what kind of sound do you get with each you mentioned?

Personally, I would do a Cold Sweat neck and a Ceramic Nailbomb or a Painkiller in the bridge.

I'd highly recommend a Miracle Man set - the bridge well suited to brighter guitars with its fat lower midrange, while the neck is warm and very fluid.

I've got a ceramic warpig set in my NT. It's been fantastic but now I'm ready to move on to something with a little less hair. Compared to the duncans, the 'Pigs just roar, and the EQ fits really well with the guitar. One thing I noticed is that the high and low mids balanced out a lot compared to with the high-mid heavy JB, although the midrange is still very pronounced as a whole. That's why I'm going to get Cold-Sweats soon. I need to roll back on the mids and heat, and I don't mind an extra injection of brightness.
