Oh my this could be awesome, ebony fingerboard too:

I almost love that. Change it to a single humbucker with a maple board and non-matching headstock and I'd be very tempted I think. I am thinking more and more about hard-tail Strats these days. Hmmm.

It it comes in a different colour like olympic white I may well gas for it!

I kiiiind of wish my white charvel wasn't so white, It does need wild colour bobbin open coils after all...
other than that, my charvel pro mod is great! especially after Johnathon set it up... (being a gent he also talked me through setting it up). So I bet this thing will be as good if not better!
I've always been hesitant about playing a strat shaped guitar, but I like how these charvels look old school. I quite liked the last wildcard HSS but I wasn't into the finish at all. This new one looks good too though! but I'd prefer it without the pickup ring.
speaking of single bridge humbucker guitars. There was a mid 80's (more pointy headstock?) Kramer Baretta on the bay recently. It didn't sell.
I can safely say these charvels have inspired me to play guitar guitar and try new things, well worth trying one.

don't really like that... needs a floyd, a non-matching headstock and a maple 'board...
do like the HS setup, though :D
EDIT: in more annoying news (i checked the jcf forum, as that's where i assume you found out about this), they seem to be changing the shade of red the non-wildcards are painted. Not cool. I've been hmming and hahing about getting the red san dimas for a while, but as long as they were in production i was happy enough to just hold off.
Now I have to either buy one or miss out (or else get it in white, which wouldn't be the end of the world as white is still pretty nice, just i prefer red).

Sonice blue or olympic white with nonmatching headstock would appeal to me more. Do like the HS and hardtail though.

Aaargh! Where's the image? :x
I've been waiting two days to see this because I couldn't see it on my work PC and the monitor of my home PC had finally given up the ghost (now replaced by a freebie from work! :D )

fixed ;)

Thanks! :D
As superstrats go, I actually like that a lot. Love the matching headstock, I'd prefer a different colour and non-Grover tuners, but those are just details. Shame it's a photoshopped image rather than a real guitar, though.

hey, just out of interest, am I the only one who hates the shape of charvel's single coil pickup routes? I mean I know they're historically accurate, but they just look horrible

I don't mind the look, but I guess that makes it very difficult to replace the pickup? Unless there's an area routed out under the top?
-
It just doesn't look right with a hardtail, it looks like it needs a trem in there.
-
^ agreed. Or at least, a different hardtail bridge which looks a bit better than that one. But agreed, I'm not entirely sure of the wisdom of that- I know on the jcf forum (I'm not registered, but I lurk) people have been crying out for a hardtail for ages, but I'd have thought a neck 'bucker would fit in better with a hardtail.
Looks like a bit of a mis-mash to me. That's just me, of course. All guitar companies (or at least the ones I like) should just hire me to design all their guitars. That way either it'd be awesome and the guitars would fly off the shelves or they'd be bankrupt within the week. :D

yeah, i emailed them about it a while back when i was half-thinking of the first wildcard (an idea I've since gone off, unlike me to change my mind  ), and they said most singles should still fit (they didn't explain how), but to check with the pickup manufacturers to be sure as they couldn't guarantee that as not all singles are the exact same size.

looks fabulous to me 8)
