I feel like im neglecting my Dean, it seems so innapropriate to have to stand to play it in practise. This is why im seeking some form of leg rest for a v shaped guitar. The closest i have come to is this Japanese companies option, but is $180. I was wondering whether anyone had any "home-brew" solutions to this problem apart from duct tape. If anyone has found a suitable solution, i would be willing to pay.
Thanks,
Alex.

I dunno, I just can't seem to play right sitting down. Well, OK: I can't play right standing up either ;) but playing sitting down always makes me feel weird! Even if I'm sitting hunched over the computer or DAW listening to playback and tweaking settings, I stand back up to play a guitar or bass part. I can sit with an acoustic guitar, or mandolin, but I can't seem to do it with electrics.

This is how to play a V sitting down. You just hold it between your legs.

I've got what you need somewhere here i think
It's from a steinberger guitar and it is a little flip out lever/legrest
Clever little bit of kit and works rather well on the Steinberger

The thing is though, with Rudolph's technique, at the moment im doing a lot of recording in a confined space in front of a computer, which means its more comfortable to sit down and play, fiddling switches and such like as opposeed to having to stand up and play.
Mr. uh... Feline Guitars? Do you know where i could pick up one of these?
The closest ive found is this one.

Thanks for all the help again,

Yeah - thats the one...
Might as well get it there if you can
You do need to make a small hole and two crew holes on the side of the guitar

Well, I did get the last name and band right. :?

Excellent.
Thanks for the help.

I have a ESP rhoads and it sits even better than a normal V, I actually prefer it to "standard"-shaped guitars, strats, les pauls etc. cuz my picking hands rests easy when playing sitting down or standing. When playing Strats and Les Pauls sitting down I need to move my picking hand a bit back and that creates tension which hinders playing a bit.

Easily done and Michael was a member of the Scorps at one time or another
Hope I didn't sound harsh there Ratty - just being a music anorak
I love both Schenker brothers playing - one of the reasons I play a V

No harm done. As a walking music encyclopedia, I should've had my facts straight.
