I'm looking for a generally meaty tone, generally playing a mix of hardcore, doom and metal. I really want the sort of tone that Brian Izzi of Trap Them has, but he uses an EMG 81 so I don't know which BKP to go with. I want that tone mixed with a sort of Brutality Will Prevail tone. I'm constantly drawn to Warpigs but after reading a few threads on here I'm open to any ideas really. Any advice would be really helpful and appreciated.

I'd start with a WP

Sounds like Warpig. Would have a look at the Miracle Man too.
-
I've been reading up on the Aftermath and that seems like a good idea, would anyone mind sort of explaining why a warpig would be better and what would have the best qualities? Thank you so far, you're helping, I just want to know that when I spend my money on a BKP I'm getting the right one!

I would say the miracle man is the closest to the 81 but still not too close as it has more dynamics & character in general.
The aftermath is a very dry picking but is also very tight and well defined.
I have no experience with the WP in a personal guitar i've just played other peoples with them and wasn't impressed so i've ignored them this far.

I've tried a Warpig in a mate's guitar and liked it but I wouldn't have thought of it in any way like an EMG81. The Miracle Man and Aftermath sound like better options, though I've not got the same experience of them myself.

I really appreciate the advice so far, I think I have it down to the nailbomb and the aftermath, which would be better? I'm really drawn to a ceramic nailbomb in the bridge at the moment, but aftermath sounds awesome too.

theres some cheap ceramic nailbombs in the seconds out section!
-
I think I'm gunna do as you suggest and pick up a second hand Nailbomb I think, unless anyone has any suggestions otherwise?

Bumping this back up as I'm a bit confused again, it's now between a warpig and a nailbomb, and as I'm listening and writing a lot of stoner metal and doom metal I seem to be reverting back to a warpig, but I've read that warpigs aren't that raw sounding, just intensely bass-y. If it's any help I can mail some guitar pro tracks to people to see if they could help, but any advice is happily taken.
