I've actually had this kit for quite some time now but i've only just gotten around to doing it today.
It took about 30 mins roughly from start to finish. Sounds really nice and the drive on it is very smooth which is great!.
I'm also going to switch the opamp around and possibly do a shootout as i found with my old OD (biyang od8) i preferred the NE5532 over the JC4558 as it let a bit more of the highs through.
I know there are claims that the different opamps make no difference but they actually do.
I've marked up the controls with a marker pen as i'm currently designing a finish for it so it will be painted over anyway.

The trickiest part of this was the footswitch wiring as its all so damn close together.

very nice
I'm happy with my older BYOC overdrive I made
I added some options that were included and a couple that I found on their forum and I couldn't be happier
I was able to get the sound I wanted without fizziness or stifled frequency range

thats what im loving about this.
One thing that baffled me is the directions said 2.5" for the wires to the jacks....
I had to shorten these considerably.
What options were it that you added? I wasn't even aware that they had a forum. I shall check it out

Ooooooooh

I could use an 808, or 820
Good stuff!
...goes off to find byoc 820....

Sweet! I was on the fence about either the BYOC or the GGG one, but GGG had theirs on sale(as they often do). As far as the opamps go, I ended up with the TI LF353P. Quieter, higher overall bandwidth and a flatter EQ when compared to the 4558. In my experience opamp swaps don't really do a whole lot when you're slamming the clipping section full on. I use mine as a boost and an amp tightener, so not a lot of clipping and it makes a difference. I would like to try the NE5532.
I'm running on 18volts and really like that improvement. Increased headroom and more lively dynamics. Doesn't "choke" my pinches like on 9v and my palm mutes have more initial attack. I'd check about whether or not your kit's components are able to do that or not.
For fun: some opamp schemes
First one's JRC4558, second's NE5532. Pretty dissimilar.

Aye it can run on 18v. I also just use it for an amp tightener and a slight boost.
I will have to try the 18v out as that sounds very interesting
