Title: New Madbean builds
Post by: tomjackson on March 27, 2011, 10:21:52 AM

I've just finished these 2, a Fatpants on the left (Xotic EP-1 clone) and a Krankosaurus on the left (BoR) clone.

thanks to Marauder and Juansolo for putting me on to Madbean :D :D

I've got a BB Preamp clone that should be done by the end of the week then in a few months I'll probably try the Zendrave and Klon (need to concentrate on playing for a while first!!)

I'll post some clips later in the week....

Nice one.

A few months?  Make that a couple of weeks!

very nice.

Did the enclosures come finished or did you do it yourself?

I finished the cases with some left over paint from installing mobile phone masts.  The Bor has a silver Hammerite speckle over telegraphpole  brown.   I'll print some decals next time but just needed it finished!

Cool. The white one looks real professional. I have a layout ready to be transformed into a PCB for an Xotic EP boost, been putting it off for no real reason even though the transparencies are printed already. How are you liking that?

I like it.  It has a bit of colour and grit to it but with the 2 controls you can change the tone quite a bit.  Vol adds brightness and volume and the Fat control thickens things up.  I've used it at one gig and pretty much kept it on all the time.

Sweet. The Madbean layout is small enough to fit in a control cavity as well as a voltage doubler on the PCB. Any noise issues or flub in the low end?

The PCB would definitely fit in a control cavity, it's really small.  No flub as far as I can tell, it's just more of what you have with a bit more sparkle.  No noise, it's really clean.

If you go on the madbean projects page it has the dims of the board....
