How does he get the guitar to scream in the solo? I really want that sound :/

loud amp (probably a plexi), fuzz (Fuzz Face would be a good place to start), Strat bridge pickup.

Loud amplifier, plenty of reverb and an echo with 'arena' settings.

Live that tone sounds like this
I like that rough round the edges tone you get with lots of gain on single coils
Think it's the boss turbo distortion through his marshall on the vid above
you will get close with a good fuzz pedal through most clean valve amps with a lot of volume
