One of my favourite guitars (yes...Honestly!!) is my 1974/75 Gibson Les Paul "Signature" gold top.

Originally fitted with Low Impedance pickups, it has had a hysterectomy... the Lo-Imps, the Decade switch and Internal Transformer all junked in favour of standard Gibson "T top" humbuckers (Bridge p/up outputting 8.57K ohms, neck 7.88K ohms) and normal controls.
I was going to swap out these Humbuckers for a set of Gibson Burstbucker3's (which I already have here) , but all this talk of fitting Mules to my Les Paul Custom, is making me wonder....
Has anyone fitted BKs to a 335 - or to any Thinlines? And if so, which types? Is a lower output more preferable?
It 's also worth pointing out that this has a hollow body a la ES330, but witha solid block under the tailpiece... not running the full length of the body like the 335's....
what do you think?

Sorry I can't give an answer so consider this a bump. Gorgeous guitar BTW!

Generally with semis we recommend something low output like a Stormy Monday so as not to colour the acoustic tone of the guitar-Alnico III Stormy Monday's are great for jazz and Alnico IV for blues.

JT and Gripweed ("How I won the war"!): Thanky chaps! I think so too, but it tends to provoke a "love it / loathe it" reaction from people, when they first see it. Those that play it only tend to have the first of those two opinions :)
The pickups are out of my 1968 SG Standard - which I want to return to original spec. Hence the reason for changing things on the semi... without altering the characteristics too much.

Hmmm? Sounds interesting... long shot, but has anyone got a sound clip of an Alnico IV set of "Stormy Mondays" that they wouldn't mind posting?

Hmmm Les, that 68 SG needs a pair of Riff Raff. Pure Angus.

....you're a wicked man, Ronaldo !

Would that be an "Aberdeen" Angus Ron? With a Side Order of Chips, Mushrooms, Peas etc? :D
Many thanks for the Second Set of Mules, by the way, arrived this morning and are being fitted as I write. OH...And the Cheque?
Well it's in The Post.............Innit! Muwahahahahahahahahaha
Cheer's

PS. Report in on your "DayOut" when you get a chance?
