Title: Repairing A Small Hole In The Top Of A Nice Accoustic

As the title suggests, really - a hole the size of a 50p in the top of a fairly nice guitar - can things like that be repaired?

I ask for pics because to me the size of 50p is a large hole in an acoustic soundboard.   the fix will be determined by where its located and the current state of the wood in that area.  

 things get massively easier if you have the missing wood
