Title: Ceramic Warpig set- advice plz
Post by: witeter on April 07, 2011, 09:24:36 AM
Hey guys got to try a guitar out yesterday with some Alnico Warpigs in and it sounded very clear. I was previously considering the Cermaic Nailbomb set but the luthier I went to (to try the guitar out) said that Warpigs is deffinetely what I should go for. Has anyone had experience with a Ceramic Warpig set in a PRS SE? (or mahogany body/maple neck guitar?). What is the neck pup like? Many thanks

bridge warpigs are very clear, considered the amount of bass and punch they have... personally i like articulate and clear neck pickups, and the neck pig unfortunately is too fat for my taste... if you love organic, full sounding and fat neck tones the WP is perfect!

I have a PRS SE Custom with a ceramic warpig in the bridge (and a seymour duncan jazz in the neck). It is really bassy and super chunky (but in a good way if you like that kind of heavy riffing). My guitar is currently tuned to drop c, but the warpig makes it sound like its tuned much lower (again, in a good way for me). Whether you'll like it depends on your taste in music though.

hey guys thanks for that-yep i did notice that the WP neck was quite fat-maybe something more articualte instead would be best-any suggestions?
Also for me a good tight bottom end (sounds dodgy i know)is essential, and a bassy bottom end isnt a problem at all :-) i only play in E standard and drop D so it shd be fine; its just that from what ive heard its not as versatile as the Nailbomb. Btw alex-what music do u play? thanks
