Hi there!
I recently installed a pair of PG blues purchased directly with Tim.
So far I love them and am enjoying getting familiar with the controls.
I have noticed that when in the middle position and both volume pots equal I get the obvious volume drop and the character tone. I have read this is expected. But one other thing that happens in the middle position, if I drop the volume of one of the volume pots completely (doesnt matter which) then the volume will roll off to zero. I would have thought if I rolled off the bridge completely then I would still have output from the neck or vice versa. Is this normal or have I messed up the connection?
BTW my Gibson has modern wiring.
Many thanks for any help/reassurance on this.
Kind regards
Leon

That's the standard "master volume" Gibson wiring, nothing wrong with it. You can mod it to have "individual" volume controls if you prefer, cf

That's a handy collection of wiring diagrams, all in one place! :D

Thankyou BigB and St.James, wow that is some serious meat to chew over! Thankyou for your insight!
Im now wondering whether to try different wiring for more options. Maybe I'll just buy another harness to mess around with various options. This is new to me so going to go look into what treble bleed does.
Thanks again guys for taking the time to reply. Lastly, I know Tim puts the resistance readings on the warranty card but is there a way to check them properly? I thought I could put the test leads on the braid and inner cores to check resistance, would that work right? If so my neck pickup is reading 6.9k instaed of 7.2k, the bridge reads 7.8k Ohms...

Hey St.James,
Thankyou very much indeed!
So a treble bleed would help lift the blanket off the neck at lower volumes? This is very interesting to me. Many thanks St.james!
