PRS himself is in the UK this week, and I'm heading down to World Guitars shortly for the demo evening tonight.  Paul and his band, with Davy Knowles and Simon McBride, will be there as will a bunch of nice gee-tars.

Good job I'm skint and can't afford to buy anything!

Hopefully I can get the Modern Eagle through the door so Paul can sign the back of the headstock for me...

I saw they had a PRS event coming up.  Long trip for you though isn't it?

Yep, 2.5hrs or so each way.  It was the closest one.

It's a good lineup, with both Davy Knowles and Simon McBride.  Don't try out too many guitars though!

Still not sure about those pickups/mounting rings.  They seem "different" just for the sake of being different.  And the mini-switches are a definite no-no.

Quality trip was had by all though, and both of us resisted GAS urges in GuitarGuitar Birmingham...

I'm not a PRS fan, but I quite like that one you posted.

I like the pickup rings, PQ - make the guitar seem fat somehow - which I totally relate to.

I was there too! I was bloody sure I recognised you from the pics on here Twinfan, but wasn't sure enough to risk saying hello and looking like an idiot if it hadn't have been you! :roll:

It was a good event, but I'm bloody glad they didn't have a credit card machine there, cos I could have got myself into some serious trouble! :)

I met Davy Knowles at a studio I used to work at (before I knew who he was). His opening line to me was 'Hi, i'm from the Isle of Man'.... just made me think of that sketch in the Fast Show... seemed like a nice guy though.

I quite like the look of those pickup rings, the guitar looks great, but i'd prefer a hollowbody version :)
