Orange 2x12. Impressive cab, well made, sounds bigger than you'd expect (sounds like a 'normal' 4x12 in the low end to me, more or less, a bit middier/low middier perhaps, not as huge and meaty as the ubercab but more than acceptable). Very good.
Thanks sgmypod :) (traded with him + an OD for my roadstar - both happy I believe; a pleasure meeting you, too, sir).
With most of my amps and the Uber

Excuse the rats nest of cables; its basically always like that. Or if its not, it is again after 10 minutes.

looks nice mate - its all about cabinet volume. my open-backed 1x12 is almost as big as a 2x12 and consequently sounds really chunky. I didn't notice any loss of 'umph' when I switched to it after being used to a 4x12.
actually, I prefer this to my 4x12 as the spill from the open back gives a better spread on stage.

Indeed, but dont forget materials and construction!
Dont you find your low end and attack get a bit blurred with the open back? Or does that suit the style youre playing?
-
Very nice. I tried one a while back and nearly bought it but got a deal on a Mesa 2 x 12 Recto. BIG mistake... the Recto was too dark for me and I sold it. Called the guy selling the Orange and I was too late. Great rig you got there too.... Spaghetti and all!

I don't have the same cab as HTH but I don't really feel there's much difference in the low-end tightness whether I have the back on or off my cab. I keep the back on at home and for recording as it seems to work better when mic'd but any time I'm playing with others I'll take the back off as it spreads the sound so much better and seems to sound the same. Then again I'm not playing anything near gut-churning technical metal so ymmv :D

Was great meeting MDV wish I'd had more time....and mayby learnt a few tech metal songs to have good go on his very pretty Legras.
Orange is one meaty cab may be one I will regret losing

So how long till you try the 4x12 and 2x12 together?
-
:) Cheers, likewise
As soon as I get another speaker cable :D

The Back to the future time....Legra>VHT pitbull100>orange2x12 and Bogner 4x!2....we'll find you laid out in the street
-
hahahaha. Yep. I'll be dissapointed if I dont get blown through the wall
But the plan is Legra - split - powerball into one, pitbull into the other
God help us all! :D

I don't find the low end gets blurred with my open back 1x12, but thats down to the speaker - some speakers can handle it, some can't (G12M comes to mind as one that can't).
I don't play anything that heavy in my covers band though, certainly nothing I would consider 'metal'.

Congrats! Looks awesome :)

Congrats! They are good cabs indeed.

Fair play HTH. Its just my experience, but probably after different things. I dont gig, just record, so I cant appreciate the benefit of spread on stage, and actually find laser-beam cabs beneficial
And cheers guys :)

nice one! I used to have the bright orange version of this - lovely cab.
do the casters pop off? if so then remove them for any live work, this cab really benefits from contact with the floor in my experience.
-
Nice cab! Orange do make good cabinets...
-
Very nice. Nice that you both come out of it with a good trade!
