On the site, looking at the comparison charts, the Aftermaths have the same stats as the Nailbombs. Are they basically "Nailbomb plus"? I already have Nailbombs in my Warlock, and Tim recommended Aftermaths for my new Agile soooooo..... just use the Nailbombs I already have? Or get a set of Aftermaths? Totally in a pickle because I always had it in my head that I would get a Painkiller Bridge and Cold Sweat Neck for this axe, and he's thrown a chopice into the mix haha! Although he did say that a Painkiller set would also be a good choice. ARGH! I'm a Libra, you should NEVER give a Libra a choice! :x

the aftermath is quite accurate, but not the nailbombs
anyway, they are completely different sounding
the aftermath sounds somewhat similar to the painkiller, but a bit less bright and less "hairy"
the alnico nailbomb is warmer, less hot, more bass heavy and a LOT less middy (the aftermath has a ton of mids)
in fact, the aftermath seems to have similar specs to both PK and NB, but the tone is much closer to the PK
the nailbomb is considerably tight for alnico, but no near as tight and "scratchy" as the aftermath
if you want different tones, don't worry about them sounding similar

You've got to remember the pickup charts are in no way related to each other.
They are for that pickup specifically to give you an idea.
The aftermath & the Nailbomb couldn't be farther apart tonally and especially on the tighness scale.
I imagine the AM will do far better for what you are wanting to play than the NB would.

Okily dokily, in that case, I'm off to Manson's to put her in for a full set-up (including raising the nut) and a set of Aftermaths.
Closer to the PK sounds like a damn good thing to me. I'm not after "Djent" per se, as I only tune to drop Db for my bands stuff so nowhere near low enough, but I want it to approach that kind of middy grunt. Plus, I want to be able to swap the strings over and experiment with a more Meshuggah / Periphery tuning later on anyway, so Aftermaths sound like the way to go.
Cheers guys!

Aftermaths ordered. Possibly getting a Brass Nut installed at the same time and a full set up for my new axe. A few days in the shop and it'll be a formidable beast indeed when I plug it in for the first time. :D

i presume this is for the agile?
hope you are as pleased with them as i was when i got them!

Yeah for the new beast, heh. For a guitar that has issues and stock pick-ups, she actually sounded fairly good. So I can't wait for the upgrades, because I know she'll be how she was before + awesome x megapwnage.
