Title: video recording software
Post by: Keven on May 11, 2011, 09:36:30 PM
I thought it would be easy to find, but i've tried tons of software and nothing's done the trick so far.

i've recently been playing alot with software amps (presonus and amplitube mainly) and i want to be able to use that to record video sessions of songs or licks for my students. much easier and practical than miccing an amp.

anyway. the best way i've found is to take a Y plug from my asio card's output to my laptop's card input. i need a Y 'cause i still need to hear myself and the backing track! i also want to record the webcam at the same time. the closest i've found was Debut Video editor, but it only records from the directsound stream, not the asio, so anything amplitube or presonus related doesn't work!

any help? thanks!

I've used this a few times with success. Not sure whether it will record the asio stream though.
