Post by: With Full Distortion on May 19, 2011, 02:16:28 PM
Hellow Guys
How are yah?
i want to Provisory wire up my nailbomb bridge into my fender but im having some problems
1 - the old jack from the emgs is still there.CAN i wire it with this jack or not?
2 .  right now i have only the Nailbomb BRIDGE. i want to install it WITHOUT the 3 way switch(ill get it at the end of the month). Is it possible? If so.. can you help me with diagrams ?
My nailbomb is the braided 2 conductors. not the four conductor.

Thank you very much in advance.
JP

If you were doing it completely control-less it would just be a simple case of wiring it to the jack.

But i think you can wire the hot of the pickup to the first tag on the pot (left when looking from above with the tabs facing downwards)

And add the cap to make it a tone pot

then take a wire from the central tag of the pot to the jack.

And yes the existing jack is fine just remove or tuck away the wire that was for the battery

if you follow the above diagram but add a cap from the middle tab of the pot to the casing i think it should work.

I'm not 100% sure though

hELLO Man
thank you very much for your message
i did a mistake on this thread
i meant 1 Volume pot only. and NOT one Tone
sorry. ahahahaha ill correct it
so basically 1 nailbomb bridge + 1 volume pot + the jack from the emg.
what about the grounding wiring that comes fro the bridge? where should i place it?
Thank you very much
JP

ahh thats good as i wasnt 100% sure how well it would work going direct through a tone pot.

So yeah just follow that diagram other than the wire colours.

I think the round is in the diagram but in case it isnt it just grounds to the back of the pot

and its no problem

thank you again for the info

out from my guitar.. there are 2 wires : One that comes from the bridge (behind the guitar) and the other one that comes from the wood. both are ground wires right?
1 - where should i plug the other wire???
2 - and regarding the emg wire that comes from the battery clip... on the jack... should i just cute the wire in the middle or pull it out direct from the jack contact itself?
thanks

i would remove it alltogether myself.

The other wire i presume is coming from the output jack?

You can just ground both of these onto the pot i imagine.

unless you have a seperate battery compartment? then the other wire could be coming from there if so just remove the battery setup

OK...
i have two wires coming from my guitar : 1 comes from the springs. and the other from the wood in the pickup cavity.
Its a fender stratocaster american standard.

and then there s  the jack wires. there are 3 . one from the emg and two i think that are the normal ones.
ill rip the emg off from the ROOT. ahahahah and not in the middle.
but first heres the photos.

i have absolutely no idea about that one.

I have never seen anything like that before.

Was it connected with the wire from the trem claw?

i imagine you can just solder those two wires together to the back of a pot.

Treat them both as the bridge ground.

I cant actually see why that one is in the wood as wood doesnt ground anything :S

I could understand it if the cavity had some shielded paint or something.

I cant see it causing any problems though

Enjoy your pickup install!
