Title: to compliment a neck rebel yell in strat??
Post by: ZECK on May 21, 2011, 01:54:05 AM
i have a HH strat and recently put a rebel yell humbucker in the neck position. that's the first best thing i did to this mim strat. LOVE the sound from this pickup.

now i'm wanting to put a pickup in the middle pos to try out and compliment the rebel yell. i seldom use the bridge humbucker although it sounds good too.

as subjective as this all too often asked question is,, i'll ask for thoughts on what would be a good compliment for the middle pos pickup with the rebel yell in neck pos.

should it be a single size humbucker?

for tones from players that i like, think trower, gilmour, gallagher, allison, gilbert to name a few.

i see where Bare Knuckle has already paired the "slow hand" single coil with the "rebel yell" humbucker.  didn't see that earlier. i like the sound clips of the "slow hand", just might get this one.

any other suggestions?

Nothing wrong with the Slowhand idea in my opinion.
