In the series of thread about overhauling my rig, I would probably need to consider to use a reverb pedal, as there are no reverb integrated in the Egnater tweaker. I will be playing the laney without reverb in the next couple of weeks to see if I would really miss it, but I think I will so...
Looking through past threads on this forum and others, I gathered that the TC electronics Hall of fame and the Digitech hardwired RV7 are good reverb pedal. But they don't come cheap, and they tend to have loads of features which I don't really care about. I have also read that the Electroharmonix stuff is not built to last and is rather noisy, so I don't want to go there even if the holygrail plus seems to be offering the kind of feature I am after:
What I would need is a very simple, nice sounding reverb. Ideally, 2 knobs: 1) a level or blend control 2) a depth or intensity control.
Any suggestion?

Biyang do one for about £45 that looks pretty good.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=619j-TV0OiA&feature=related
Danelectro do a real spring reverb for £70.

Biyang one I am getting in trade, will give u shout how good it is.
Tried the hardwire great pedal, not cheap does a lot. Have digitech xdv digiverb, does a lot like the spring reverb but no true bypass.
Melekko ones are very nice, not cheap
-
Spring Chicken isn't cheap, but I'm glad I got mine

Look at the Malekko Chicklet too.

I know some of their stuff gets slated (and rightly so) but some of the stuff they make is class.
I own this, and love it

I use it with my Fender Champion 600 amp, its fantastic.
I know it is not quite the 2 knob reverb that you said, but it's not complicated, and it really is fantastic sounding.

Just built the byoc one and it's rather wonderful. Just needs one resistor swapping for a trimmer so you can adjust it to taste and it's really very, very good.

I use a Boss 63 Fender Reverb pedal - it is about as simple as you can get.

I have also read that the Electroharmonix stuff is not built to last and is rather noisy, so I don't want to go there even if the holygrail plus seems to be offering the kind of feature I am after:
I had a Holy Grail Plus and not only was it not very reliable, I didn't greatly care for the sound either. I know you've already discounted it but I just though it worth saying that my experience bears out what you've read elsewhere.

Thanks guy for the feedback.
I played the laney with the reverb out in the past few days to see if I would miss it... I think I am so eager to get a Tweaker that my brain is bypassing my ears and overloaded with a "you don't need reverb" load and clear message. It is funny because as far as I can remember, I have always been using a reasonnable amount of reverb with Les Pauls, less so with the Tele. I can see I wouldn't miss it with teh Tele, but the Pauls... I think I need to play some more until the GAS effect and the no-I-don't-need-to-fork-out-an-extra-£100 effect wear out and I can finally check if I do indeed need reverb or not. I few recorded clips with and without should help.
TBC...

just got the biyang.....and got to say so far impressed

Will you post some sound clips?

The RV-7 is great, it's on my live board for the 'dry' sounding venues we play. I've got a EH Nano grail at home, works fine, very simple sounds great. Not sure about reliability as it just sits on an amp every day.

Although I have the EH Cathedral, and it is a good pedal, I would recommend the Digitech one.

will try next week post some clips
