Title: Spot The Miracle Man
Post by: adamj on May 25, 2011, 04:39:48 PM
Ok so just for a bit of fun lets see how good your ears are. Im in the process of writing a new EP, and just laid down 2 tracks, vocals yet to be done. For one of them I used my Epi LP custom and for the other I used my Ibanez sz520 with BKP's. Now my mastering skills are not yet face destoryingly perfect but im getting there, and used exactly the same settings for both tracks to get a samey feel, as my old recordings varied in quality quite a lot. Both have been mixed as 32bit wavs, and although different songs they are in the same tuning also. Bear in mind there is slight reverb and EQ'ing going on (which could inevitably make this completely pointless, but what the hell, its only for a laugh!)

Heres track 1:

and track 2:

Ill post the answer in a few days. If you vote give a reason below, it might be useful for people looking to buy these pickups in the future and point out any nuances a novice might not hear first time round.

I've only been able to listen on my cr@ppy built in laptop speakers so far but I'd lay a guess at number 2 for the MM  :)

Track one seems to be clipping pretty heavily, unlike track 2 which sounds good. I don't know if it's my comp or what.
