If they got rid of the trem it would be perfect!
-
I think that is ok. i don't like the control layout but I can't think of one that would look better while grouping the dials with the toggle.

yeah its a bit awkward i like how esp did it with 1v 1t & the toggle ina line
-
I prefer the normal look with controls in a straight line.
Not much to object to though, that's a decent looking guitar.
Is there a V and/or SG version?
-
It doesn't appear that there is. The straight line is what i was referring to with the ESP but they replace one of the volumes with the toggle

wow now those epis are nice!
-
they'll be there when they put ebony on more of their models, update the ridiculous dots and star slapping 24 frets on their metal models.. AND friggin start extending the sale lenghts on their 7 string models... and move the 7th tuner peg on the V in a less retarded position..
they haven't really done anything here, that more reasonable companies havent done 30 years ago..
-
Not much of a metal head anymore but I really want one of those Epiphones.
I better get started relearning some old Hetfield riffs.
-
I think I want one of Joe Bonamassa Gold Top Studios that are coming out
-
i think the last new Gibson line that had me really interested was the Les Paul Studio Gem series. I'd still love one.
-
like that 80s knob position
-
The guy from Hypocrisy, Peter Tärgrgttgrgr.... whatever his name is, has a beautiful black ESP Explorer, just like the one from Hetfield.
You can find videos with him using it on Youtube. He has a black one and one with a black diamond plate.
-
A mate has the black treadplate ESP Explorer. Very cool, even though I didn't like how it felt to play.

Ooo… depending on the price of those, I'd seriously think about getting one as a backup for my V…
-
Theyre £419 according to google shopping.
I'm definitely considering one
-
$%, that is horrendously cheap.
Might even pick one up someday at that pricetag, and mod the cr@p out of it.
The Gibson is nice too. I for one haven't lost faith in Gibson yet, but I still like where they're going with this.
-
never trust an Epiphone, unless it's a natural finish and after checking the entire body
they're good at hiding a dozen body pieces and basswood/alder/mahogany/plywood mixed bodies
-
Body wood doesn't really matter that much with EMG's.
-
true
but the fact that they do that even in the most expensive models really pisses me off
you pay $700 for a supposedly professional level guitar that is built like a 70's $50 pawn shop guitar
