Said I wouldn't do it again - but I couldn't resist the green...............
Its a CIJ Jaguar, been playing surf and grunge this evening - Boy does that short scale length makes things tricky!
-
Yas! Surf green Jazzmasters/Jaguars/Mustangs are the business.

Looks more Sea Foam Green to me.
Lovely plank there Elliot, is that a re-issue Vibroverb there or a real brownface?
-
Ach whatever. "A Fender Green". Sonic and Daphne blue get the same thumbs up, too.
-
I was wondering what the sad face in the thread title was about....?
I have to be honest and say I've never felt any GAS for a Jag or Jazzmaster, but by golly that looks utterly cool. Great colour, and you know I love a matching headstock! :D
-
i was worried for a minute that maybe something had gone wrong with the ngd. good to hear it's all good :D Very nice !
-
Looks superb mate! Very surf-y!
-
That looks GRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT. You should have a smiley face!
-
Yeah - its sea foam green - the strat on the side is surf green but looks more blue in the light.
As to the Vibroverb - it is a reissue, if it was real I would be able to sell it and never work again! The reissues are pretty good though once you take out the stock speakers and put Webers in - 5751s seem to make it sound more 'vintage' too. Its sound is clean to blues break up (and it loves TS type pedals) but not like a watery Blackface clean - much more low end and mid range. People often associate Surf with Blackface clean but if you listen to early recordings by groups like the Chantays or the Belairs there is a much darker sound behind the treble than you would get on, say a Twin Reverb.
Im not sad buying the Jag (in fact I just order some Curtis Novak pickups for it - as BKP don't make them), its just I have broken a promise made to myself and others that gas was over.
-
awwwwwwwwwwwwwww you been naughty!
Congrats mate, looks lovely
-
Yep, that'll do nicely.
-
Very nice guitar, although I'm not a Jazzmaster/Jaguar-fan. The colour is brilliant.
-
Lovely looking guitar, I know you've let me down, the whole school down and worst of all yourself down with this GAS induced purchase, having solemnly promised that you were cured but secretly everyone thinks it's cool. Hurrah for recidivism. :)
-
I always thought there was a "due by date" on this kind of promises. Chances are, it is long passed and you don't have anything to feel guilty about! :)
Having colour "almost-matched-to-the-point-where-you-can-just-assume-it-is-matched" (at least on this photo) guitars looks very cool, espacially with such a nice stand in the background. I had once a wee GAS attack for a Jazzmaster, but it was too much of a departure from my comfort zone (single slabs) to come to any expensive conclusion.
New guitars rock. Enjoy!
