Weird is good! Looks like a nice piece of wood to me. What kind of pups does it come with? For some reason it looks to me like a hi gain guitar... maybe because of the sharpen Les Paul style contour.

Congratulations  :D

Never seen one of those before!  I guess it's pretty new (from the CE sticker on the neck), so Korean?  Or Chinese?

Washburn totally change their product lines so often, it's hard to keep up.  They never seem to keep one "main" design for very long (although I guess the "Idol" shape has lasted a while).

never tried them (or even heard of that model  as philly says washburn chops and changes a lot), but I like it. Very nice shape and colour.

the body looks pretty similar to my '81 washburn falcon,  but the headstock on mine is more standard gibson shape, and mine has a string through style bridge

You have a Falcon?  Pictures please, it's a guitar I've always admired!  :D

Im on holiday so I can't get pics of the falcon for at least a week, but its solid red and has off white binding,  the pickups are washburns own "power sustain" humbuckers. Its very dark sounding guitar as is a mahogany neck through and string through with brass saddles. 81 is the newest guitar I've played so I couldnt comment on how it stacks up against newer models but a Falcon will do anything from jazz to metal. and I'd imagine that 30 years of "improvement?" will have changed things quite a bit.

Has it got the brass ring fretboard inlays?  I love that look.

I've been on the lookout for one with the rosewood top and maple through-neck.  They do appear on eBay occasionally.  Only thing that puts me off is they're meant to be really heavy (like many Japanese guitars from the early '80s, e.g Yamaha SGs and Ibanez Artists)

This one has great sustain, heavy but not lp heavy. Not dark.
