Title: Jack connector(s)???
Post by: Jazz Rock on June 04, 2011, 06:59:09 PM
Is there different type of jack connectors or can any jack be used for an instrument cable or a speaker cable? Am asking as the power load is not the same and I have been advised by youse forumites not to use one for another.

I am putting together my own speaker cable out of parts from the studio spares website with bananas and a jack connectors at either end. So I just want to make sure I am ordering the right jack. The one I was thinking of using for the moment is a Neutrik Np2Rx-B R/A Mjack Gold/Blk. will it do the trick?

They are the same.

Try to get switchcraft or neutrik would be my advise for any application.

I like what some manufacturers do to put in the locking neutrik jacks in their guitars, but they need a huge cavity to fit in.

if it needs isolating from any metal use either switchcraft with shoulder washers or cliff jacks as theyre plastic

But other than that they are the same

Ooh after re reading im thinking input jacks rather than actual jacks

Amphenol jacks are also excellent
