The guy who made the chassis & headshell has clearly changed the size of his chassis since Dmoney did one of these builds and now when ive done it.
had to redrill a couple of holes to get it to fit but all is well now.
And thanks Dmoney for the headshell!
Now i have a crisis though the grille on the headshell is the opposite direction as the grille on my cab...
oh well

ah i see what you mean about the grille in the close-up  Still looks badass though.
is that only a 50 watt slo?
-
yeah its only a 50w one.
just 2x 6l6gc but im toying with the idea of throwing some KT88s or EL34 in there
-
Nice, dude! Orange tolex rocks. I wouldn't worry about the grills at all. Definitely go with KT88s in that thing. I run two in my 5150, which is a constant surgery victim, and I love em. I do swap out every so often for a quad of NOS GEs I picked up awhile back, but mostly it's KT88s. The bad parts of the cold stage, that we both have, are reduced and it's "naturally" fatter without having to set the resonance as high and the highs are smoother. Pinches and palm mutes are especially nicer on KT88s. But that's my ears, not yours or anyone else's. Worth it to try for sure.

You made it from an amp kit?
-
No. There are no kits.
I sourced all the components myself and just worked from a schematic & layout that had a few errors in to get this done.
There are no instructions or anything like that

owwow!!!
Well done mate...
I hope it plays as good as it looks!!!!!

It sounds absolutely amazing!
I am going to be doing some proper recordings with it this weekend and i'll add them to this thread.

Wow! That is impressive. You actually put together your own amp. That sounds like long hours spent on the workbench, but it must be so rewarding. Very well done indeed Sir :)
