Can you now spec guitars from Bravewood? I didnt think he took orders just put them on his website to buy.

Are they similar price to std custom shop fenders? Its a big bday for me this year. Im thinking of getting a dream guitar made but had ruled Bravewood out as it would not be the exact spec.

My impression (from guys on here who have Bravewoods) is that yes, you can spec a guitar, but if he's very busy (or maybe if he thinks your specs are ridiculous!) he may turn you down.  He certainly never gives the impression of being desperate for new work.

I'm sure it will be all you want.  I have a 56 Strat (with a neck based on my real 57 that I took over to John for him to measure up).  A 64 veneer board (with a hb in the neck pickup), a 61 Jazz bass (an incredible bass - better than any other Jazz bass I've ever played).  He also refurbished my 1960 Strat - refetting and building a new body to replace the wrong one that it had - he did an olympic white over sunburst for it).  The last one I got from him was a 1956 precision in shell pink.  He's currently making me a 67 strat in blue ice metallic with matching headstock.  I was looking at some telecasters last time I was there because I do fancy a custom  telecaster (with the bound body).  Other than the 60 Strat, all of mine have had Bare Knuckle pickups in them.

The most amazing thing about his instruments is the feel.  Everyone of the ones I have feels like an old guitar (and I have a lot of old guitars to try them against!).

He is taking orders but on a limited basis - he still won't make me a 1959 Les Paul though!

i think i just caught him at the write time to get one built to my specs, i wasnt looking anything crazy different, just good old vintage specs, and my own neck scape, 21mm first fret and 24mm 12th fret, 6100 frets, and the BKP 63 v board! cant wait!! :D thanks 4 your thoughts and comments!

if anyone would put up some pics it would be great to!! :D

chris.

A mate of mine has one and it is a superb guitar. Has everything that you'd want and the feel is just right.
