I've been listening to the black sabbath "live evil" album and I just love that sound he gets, I've read that he originally used stock P90s and at some point switched to super high output pickups, This album came out in '82, so which would it be? I'm planning a heavy metal guitar build and I would really like to get his live sound.

Hi, I think they were John Birch pickups, magnum or biflux or something like that. It was a John Birch SG on live evil, and a John Diggins one which he uses live now where the finish has worn off.

You think warpigs would be similar to those? after all they are called warpigs...

maybe get a bit of both and get a pig 90 :)

I don't know, but I would imagine Warpigs would suit Sabbath material. The tone Iommi got on the Ronnie Dio albums is my favourite.

The Pig90 is an excellent idea, are they just as good at driving an amp? because I don't use pedals and it's a non master volume 50's amp

My cpig 90 is hotter than my regular warpig, so yes :P
