I currently use Miracle Man's and EMG 81's for live work, I find when I change over to the Miracle Mans, I get more loads more bass end. The thing is I don't want to end up using one pick up or the other as the tonal response from both the pu’s is extremely useful. Is there any way I can sort this, instead of changing my eq set up on my rig each time I swap over? I use a 5150 (Mk1) and Marshall Mode 4 cabs if that's of any help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could use an EQ pedal, have the amp EQ set to optimise one pickup, and have the pedal set to change that to optimise for the other.

Have you tried balancing up the pickup and polepiece heights? Might be worth seeing what you can do with that before going for EQ pedals!

Tried altering the PU's heights, but the problem was still largely there; I've just ordered an EQ pedal and will try that. I've had that advice given to me already so it's bolstered that way out. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Cheers, any other idea's would be warmly received.

Hi!
i have a couple of things that will be a huge upgrade:
1. Change the tubes in the 5150. Tell Bob at eurotubes what you are after tonewise and whats missing in your set up. Easy to order and great customersupport!

2. Buy new cabels between your amp and cab.
3. I'am quite surprised about your cab chooise aswell. A mode four cab to a tube amp. Maybe an upgrade here aswell
