Title: new BKP day (MQ in Les Paul)...
Post by: HTH AMPS on July 06, 2011, 03:48:56 PM
As is tradition on this forum, here are the 'pictures or it didn't happen'.... (well, one anyway)

Its a MQ neck if you're still wondering.  Will know later on after practice if it's staying or going (Abraxas is on standby or possible sale).

I like P90's and def. in the neckpos. Let us know how it compares to the Abraxas.

The bridge is a non-BKP, so I'll not go into too much detail other than to say it's A5 and sits somewhere between a BKP Abraxas and Crawler in terms of tone (hot PAF in other words).

The MQ neck is utterly awesome, just delivers everything I was expecting from a P90 neck tone.  Its got that slightly single coil snap and stays defined even with the volume rolled down - doesn't get muddy at all.  Its perfect for me as I set my amp dirty, then use the guitar's volume to get varying levels of overdrive.  I tend to use the neck for my 'clean' tone by running it around '5' on the guitar's volume.

I'm quite tempted to get a Stockholm bridge now
