OK,
bit of a strange request but.........
Have a $20 left on itunes gift card and actually having a "brain block" trouble thinking of good songs.
I have dual speaker in ear monitors (ultimate ears pro.) which REALLY bring out the music.
I have downloaded, some Judas Priest, Slashs snakepit, George Thorogood, Guns and Roses, Helloween, Godsmack, Tesla, Blue Murder etc.
But have hit a block.
So, any ideas?
Help me spend the rest :)

sabbath of course!!! and plenty of zeppelin!

maybe some hendrix, ufo.

k just going through my music match jukebox now reeling off a list of all the old rock artists that you may/may not already have, here goes:
EDIT: wolfsbane lol (steel's a pretty good track)
Van Halen
Uriah Heep
T-Rex
Ted Nugent (cat scratch fever- great track)
Skid Row
Sammy Hagar
Aerosmith
Quiet Riot
Queensryche
Queen Nazareth
Motorhead
Motley Crew
Iron Maiden
Alice Cooper
wow just realised they're in reverse-alphabetical order- HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!!
anyway they're the bands that i think you may have some vague interest in. like i said i just browsed through my mp3 collection, i mean i only have 1 one song from some of those bands lol. anyway hope it helps.
-
Sambo,
COOL list
heard cat scratch by Pantera? lol, it's great!
Alot of others there too!
Itunes sucks at times but is GREAT for single songs. Finally got Queensryche "Gonna Get Close to You" (never got Rage for order album, in UK is costly import and now in USA never thought lol).
Can suck though, lots of bands omitted on itunes and longer songs not offered, i.e. Helloween "Halloween" grrrrrrrrr.
Actually got alot of what you mentioned (so we are similar intastes :)).
Am thinking of Cinderella "Shake Me" too (that make me a softy???? LOL). Well have got a Jackson guitar now so guess it's ok LOL!
Have Tesla too. Remember seeing them support Leppard, cool.
Trying to think of my LP collection (which is still in UK and what I miss lol)
BTW, anyone know a good site to Value/Sell rare LP's/Vinyl? My god have HUGE collection. Gotta be some rareties too, like, "Metal Up Your Ass" unofficial bootleg (stopped by court injunction) Metallica (unopened/played). First Strike EP by Leppard, unopened/played, etc.
-
Jeff Beck- just about anything ( except Hi Ho Silver Lining). Little Feat if you like 1970's swampy stuff.
-
lol never heard pantera's version of cat scratch, having said that i do actually like some pantera stuff when im in a bit of a pissed off mood lol it's quite cool. i guess your right we do have pretty similar tastes. haha wot you said about 'tesla' supporting leppard- that made me crack up because believe it or not im 14 and therefore definately dont remember any tesla supporting leppard lol!!! it's actually quite scary seeing as we have such similar taste. i take it you are actually an adult or have made a compleeeeetely stupid assumption and gone off on a tangent? lol.
anyway, i know who leppard are (def leppard right?) and they're cool but never heard of tesla- what they like???
and yer i know what you mean about itunes can be a bitch sometimes.
-
Sambo, darn my boy u r YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
I am 36, old fart LOL
Tesla are cool , IMO, should check em out.
First album is very cool as is "Five Man Acoustical Jam" and "Standing Room Only".
You have some older tatse there for a "nipper" lol. I grew up on older bands (Bad Company, Led Zep etc. so was abit odd one out myself).
Never got into Pantera till recently really. My fiance is from Dallas Texas and her best friend was dating Vinnie Paul a time ago and they all used to hang out. She has some GREAT stories. She knew Drowning Pool guys too. The "Trees" in Dallas is/was a MAJOR rock place (like I remember the Marquee in London). Dimebag nearly "worshipped" Ted Nugent, hence Scratch Fever cover.

Sambo, BTW, good luck with the guitar re-finishing. I copped out and am having a local (Houston) Luthier re-finish a Jackson I just bought (stole for price lol) before I move back to UK.
-
I used to have Cliff Burton's last gig on Vinyl. The sound quality was really poor at the beginning but got much better. I regret selling it, but I was young and skint.
-
cool might have to check out tesla. yer i do like a lot of the older stuff, i tihnk it's cause my dad likes zeppelin and sabbath e.t.c so he introduced me to it all.
that's really cool with your fiance and best friend thing! and i never knew that dimebag was such a fan of ted nugent.
and when it comes to re-finishing... well i'm deciding whether to take the plunge at the moment. i have virtually no money lol so can't get any pro's involved has to be me doing it. good luck with yours too, what colour is the jackson being done???
-
I'm also young I guess (17) and love all the old stuff 8) All my mates seem to hate old rock music, I dont get it!
-
Jag Panzer!
-
Sambo,
the Jackson I bought is "natural" (lacquered wood grain), it has a flame maple top and un-painted body. Got it REAL cheap and has few nicks/bumps/rough spots/chips. So getting it re-finished back to new. Not gonna paint it but put it back to as-new condition with lacquered finish.
-
oh cool, just after i posted that last thing it did cross my mind that you might not be painting it. i've seen the pics you posted a while ago though- B-E-A-uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutiful!!!

Ya need some Allman Bros, probably. And, hey, some Jethro Tull -- usually overlooked and unpopular, but I was just listening to some old live stuff last night and Martin Barre's guitar playing still kicks my @$$. (Benefit sometimes almost reminds me of Sabbath from the same period; I can see why Iommi was briefly tapped as guitarist for Tull.)
