Hi,
I have just bought a Maple neck Strat. I like to play 80's and modern metal and also like Yngwie Malmsteen. I am going to put a humbucker in the bridge and change the middle and neck pickups.
I am looking to get a pre-wired pickguard and pickups from Bare Knuckle. What combination would you advise?

Well for the yngwie stuff i think the trilogies would be good? (ive not tried them personally)
And as for 80s to modern metal in the bridge i cant see anything better than the miracle man.
The aftermath can always do this but is a very dry pickup.
The Cold sweat can do it too but i find it a bit too polite in the mids for most metal

Thanks for the reply. I cannot see any option in the online store to select an HSS configuration for the pre-wired pickguard, only SSS!!!
Perhaps it is better to order this combo over the phone.

yeah i think you would be better doing that.
That way you can discuss things with Tim too.
he will be able to give you a perfect reccomendation if you give him enough info to go off.

I would consider The Holy Diver too. The MM has quite some low mids, but not and emphasized uppermidspectrum. If that's what you're after, then the MM. The Diver beefs up strats, especially with maple necks.

So maybe a holy diver in the bridge and trilogy suite in middle and neck?
-
would be my choice, too. Keep in mind that you can also play metal with a "vintage" SSS Strat if you got the right amp, I sometimes use my 60's custom shop strat with Amber pickups (John Mayer Style voiced) over my Bogner for rhythm tracks.

HD and TS make a nice combo. The HD splits great too.

Thanks for the ideas. Is there any quick connector available for the ground and jack socket connections instead of soldering?

Yes, but soldering is more reliable. Anyway, you can order a prewired HSS-plate.
