Title: Suhr SSH+ and DSH+ compared to BKPs
Post by: metalmaniac93 on July 14, 2011, 02:28:45 PM
Can anyone provide guidance on how these two pups compare to the BKP line.  I know it will not be a direct comparison, but what BKPs are similar or in the same ballpark especially for a bolt mahogany/maple top with maple neck and Floyd-like tremolo.   Has anyone tried the SSH+ or DSH+?

I think you're in Nailbomb/Holydiver-terrority. Haven't tried them though. I'v only experience with the classic-T-set and heard the SSV, which a collegue-musician has in his superstrat.

I only know the Suhr SSH and Doug Aldrich models. The SSH was in the same guitar as the A-Nailbomb is now. I would compare these two as follows:

SSH: dark, pronounced low midrange, good midrange, overall too smooth and not enough cut
A-NB: dark but without that overbearing low midrange, good midrange, smooth but still enough cut

Outputs are similar, the A-NB's is a bit higher.

Stephan,

What kind of guitar did you have that had both PUs in them?

Hi Rob,

It's a 2003 PRS Singlecut without trem.
