Tomorrow's headlines:

"ZAKK WYLDE OVERUSES ARTIFICIAL HARMONICS.

In other news:
- Water still wet, Scientists report.
- 99% of bears continue defecating in forested areas
- Vince Neil acts like tw@t, onlookers non-nonplussed."

Zack's tone sucks these days too - WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much chorus.

Mmm I didn't think that was over-use... Maybe I need to use them less too :D

Maybe this can compete zakk's obsession :S

Overuse of them does weaken the overall sound rather than occasionally spicing up the riffage - and yes I agree about the chorus pedal - (or rotovibe or whatever it was) seemed to deaden his sound a lot.

tone sucks was my first thought and largely because too much chorus.the playing is overdone too and ozzy's singing is cr@p as usual (no disrepect meant).

The harmonics are excessive, but the worst thing about that clip is that shiteous SG-V thing he's playing.

as for crazy train i would rather listen to when this 9 year old japanese kid played with ozzy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3yEGX1EoY0

He fudges up the solo but he has tiny hands and a full size guitar + ozzy picks him up whilst hes playing it which cant have helped.

brilliant vid toe knee, miles better tone, vocals still awful but it shows why ozzy deserves to be the legend he rightly is.

Such a far cry from the 'No More Tears' period.

Back then his playing was more tastefull and less excessive.

It's true, even then the harmonics were very much his signature thing, but not so excessive.

As I always say at these times, I still think the Pride & Glory album's the best thing he's ever done.

And I always agree. I really find all his other efforts boring at best, and irritating for the most part.

Pride & Glory is the best thing Zakk has done by a wide margin. Still, his performance on Ozzy's No Rest For The Wicked can't be overlooked.

Agree with all of this.
