Been out of it for a while. just getting used to another addition to the family, baby boy, but hope to get back into the forum.
Slow hands have arrived and due to be fitted this Thursday with a mate who has done a strat pickup change before. I think it looks worse than it is to get the pickups out and in.
I'll let you know how I get on. Any suggestions about alternative wiring for strats.
Thanks Chris.

I dreaded my first pickup change, converting my bass from active to all passive. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, I just had to take it slow!

Sound Clips! Sound Clips! If you can!

Congrats on the boy! I had a push-pull pot on my Strat. It allows neck and bridge and, indeed, all three. The latter was a bit of a disappointment (though might be better if the mid was non reverse polarity) but the bridge and neck I use a fair amount. Worth a thought. It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on the pups when you have them fitted- even if you are not able to post a clip, your opinions would be appreciated. I have Apaches and I love them but I have a second Strat to do eventually and it has crossed my mind that I ought to look at other models.

Go slowly and it's not too bad. It's all like for like so swap out one p/up at a time and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the advice guys, Ill let you know how the slow hands perform.
I've bought and fitted various BKP humbuckers, but this is my first strat set and I'm very excited. It was the "darker tone" that attracted me to them as well as the sound clips. I'm sure they will wipe the floor with my stock Fender set.
P.S. Sorry ,but I'm not the Chris selling the Simms-Watts head.
Cheers
Chris.
