I got pissed off when he said Broderick is better than Friedman....
Then he went on to say the Friedman & Menza lineup wasnt the best or as good as the current lineup... ok Dave Rust In Peace & Countdown To Extinction arent as good as endgame... yeah right
Then he just goes on about this "supergroup" which is effectively Metallica in 83 but with Ellefson instead of Cliff.
I always thought Dave was pretty cool but he just seems like a c--ky shite here

Personally I think it's wrong to say one guitarist is better than the other. Styles and personalities differ and that may fit a band better or worse.
The Hetfield/Mustaine superproup could get interesting, though. Could become brilliant or they're gonna kill eachother.
-
Didn't they already have a group? It was called METALLICA ... Mustaine needs to get over himself.
-
I'd like to see this supergroup collab with Sunn O))) to rerecord "F.W.T.B.T. (I Dream of Lars Ulrich Being Thrown Through the Bus Window instead of My Master Mystikall Cliff Burton)".

Fair comment, I've never agreed with the idea of one musician being "better" than another, it's not athletics.... although I have probably slipped into saying it more than few times.
In this case I'll just say that, IMO, Megadeth made better (agh, that word again!) music with Marty Friedman than they have done without him.
Mustaine's comments there sound defensive and bitter - I don't know how successful Megadeth are now, but I very much doubt they've "achieved more" (commercially or artistically) with the current lineup. And were they "already huge" when Friedman and Menza joined the band? Maybe..... but they'd just made their worst album, with their worst lineup (IMO!), and seemed to be in self-destruct mode. And "huge" or not, they definitely got "huger".
I've always been surprised how complimentary Dave was to Marty in the years after he left - I think he was hoping he'd come back. Looks like the resentment has been building up, and now it's spilling over.....

Rust In Peace was Megadeth's best record by a mile, its not even up for discussion.

I don't recall any interview where he isn't. he probably has plenty of reasons but he should also let things go.
Slightly OT: This f-ing gorgeous though:

Oh yeah, absolutely. It's just that usually he's defensive and bitter about something else.
-
yeah he was always rather pleasant about Marty.
Quite possibly because he was the only member who left of his own accord at that point (Drover did too later)
I also think that if Marty said he wanted back in that the lineup of Megadeth would change again.
But Marty has said he doesn't have any interest in that "scene" anymore

i agree i quite like those.
I much prefer his old Y2kV and ESP DV8 though but they are a totally different breed of guitar
-
I have to say, I look at that guitar and think... well it's nice, but it would be nicer if it was shaped more like a regular Explorer and had the controls arranged like a regular Explorer!
-
I like that guitar a lot too, it looks fresher but still classic.
About Mustaine:
Come on people, Mustaine has always talked bullshitee. That's not going to change ever. I've long stopped reading anything he says and just listen to the music.
