Title: Pickup Recommendation

Hey guys! Newbie here! Looking for some advice from the BKP experts. Bought a cheap do-it-yourself guitar with either alder or basswood body, fixed bridge and a Strat neck. What set of humbuckers would you recommend for a hard rock tone good for leads? Considering set of Aftermath or Holy Divers.

Aftermath and holy diver covers a LOT of ground.

For hard rock tones, maybe holy diver or cold sweat set.

Pics or it hasn't happened (unless it's a tele body)! :)

If you really mean hard rock (not metalz), I'd say VHII or Crawlers depending on whether you prefer a (resp.) brighter or warmer/fatter tone.

I'd highly recommend the Holy Divers - excellent rhythm tones with just the right amount of low end chunk for an alder or basswood instrument, whilst still being smooth, clear and articulate. Their real party piece, however, is the wonderfully vocal and expressive lead tone they produce.. they really do sing.

Not so sure about the low end chunk, but I totally agree about the singing lead tone.

I've heard plenty of clips where the Holydivers produce lots of low end.
In my Soloist there's very little bass thump noticeable.
