OK, to suit a Peavey 6505+ and Bugera 6262, which of these 2 cabs would be best for metalcore? I keep hearing the Rectifier has more bass and sounds huge - which is good, and the Stiletto offers more definition and makes everything sound that much tighter. Could someone please give me some pros and cons, please? Cheers

If you're based in Europe, then I'd look into Orange cabs if I were you too. Great cabs, and a good deal cheaper than Mesas are over here.

I'll deffo check that out then. thank's for the advice. How do they actually compare though?
-
Well, first of all they're a good load cheaper! Plus they look a lot cooler.
That said, Madsakre from here has a Recto cab, oversized version, and does sound really good. More suited for demolition work than actual music though, but that's the way he likes it.
Palm mutes and chugs sound horrendously brutal on it, and definition is fine too.
But to be honest I prefer the Orange cabs myself. A good deal less low-end, though there is still plenty, mind you. I just know that the times I've had the pleasure of playing through Orange Cabs it has sounded glorious. I don't own one myself, but some backlines I've gigged over have had them, and I always jump and cheer when I see those cabs.

Check out Engl cabs as well, while you're at it.
Other than that I can't help, as I have no idea what the difference is between a Recto and a Stiletto cab :?
-
the Mesa website explains the differences between the cabs, I've not sure what more you need to know...
RectifierŽ closed back cabinets are Mesa's most popular cabinet and an icon in heavy music, used on more hit recordings than we could list here. The 4x12 cabinets are larger than most others producing a thundering low end response & a tailored midrange character. HUGE Sounding!
StilettoŽ Traditional cabinets are slightly smaller than our RectifierŽ cabinets producing a tighter, more balanced low end response with an emphasis on attack. The midrange is more pronounced. These closed back cabinets are often preferred for styles that require a tight tracking, articulate response.
They both have V30 speakers, so it's just the cab size making the difference in attack and bass-end.

Im normally pretty tolerant with stuff like this.
but come on man ONE THREAD AT A TIME.
its making the forum a right mess you could fit EVERY single one of your questions into one thread and still get responses

Where else could I have posted anything about a 4x12 cab? :S
-
Are you serious? In any of your other threads?
Why have a thread about Luthiers and then another thread asking about daemones?
Why not ask about wound 3rd's in your thread about strings for Drop B?
What tubes should I buy for a Buggera 6262? What do tube postions V1 V2 V3 V4 do (for a non specific amp)? What brand of 6L6's do you like and why?... that's 3 threads that can be under 1.
HTH got your answer probably after about 2 mins of using google. Do you want me to sit here googling stuff on your behalf?
and take a look at your question...

You answered it yourself.
I don't like Recto cabs. I don't really like cabs with 4x Vintage 30's. I don't really like Orange cabs. I don't really like crushing metalcore with 'sick' breakdowns. I suggest you get a fender champ and a tele.
