Title: Ceramic Warpigs or Painkillers for ESP LTD M-1000
Post by: kxsxpxn on September 19, 2011, 10:42:05 AM
What would you recommend me more...

Here is info:
My guitar is ESP LTD M-1000 (neck thru edition form 2004) with set of active EMG81,
Body is maple/alder
I want to get a little more organic sound, but with hi output.
Because I mostly play black metal with a lot of chords,
clarity of notes inside chords are important also.
btw, I play in D.

Thanks!

I haven't played a Painkiller or C-Pig but the Miracle Man would fill the bill regarding high output and chord clarity.

Cheers Stephan

C-pig has the output and has a lot of bass too I found in my 7 string.  It is nice and clear and I've found it sounds good around E or D.  It really would be the perfect pup in my Ltd AX-250 but it's too big to fit.  My next purchase will be a ESP Ltd MH-417 as I want EMG 81/707 in a 7 string to compare to the c-pig.

Email the guys at BKP too as their advice is great.  They'd give you a better idea what to go for.

If you want organic tone for black metal you may check out the alnico Nailbomb. Tight enough in D, I think.

I just bought a set of alnico Nailbomb for my guitar, I play black metal in D and they're awsome. I have a Jackson DKMG that has a body made from alder and a maple neck.

What sort of black metal are we talking? How thick/thin do you want the sound?
