Just changed out my pickups from nailbombs to an aged covered coldsweat set.
Loved the nailbombs but they were a little too mid focussed and grainy for me, probably made worse by the short scale woofy PRS. It took me a year to bite the bullit and invest in a suitable replacement, a few false starts (god bless ebay) as the miracle man proved too fizzy and the Holydiver too dark until I finally found my match with the coldsweat.
They still capture my sound but feel much more open, much better cut in a live situation whilst retaining that effortless single note punch.
Running a Blackstar HT40 with matching extension cab (put my old Engl and Rivera to shame at a fraction of the cost).
Recently I replaced the budget stock speakers with a Celestion classic 80 in the combo and a Vintage 30 in the cab, nice mix and a tighter sound which finally pushed me into seeking out a more balanced pickup for my rig.
Anyone else with coldsweat / PRS leanings?

I had them in a McCarty Korina and they were great for heavy rock/metal, but not warm enough for me on cleans. I like warm tones and play a large variety of gain levels live, and they were just a bit clinical for me.
Bloody great for the heavier tracks though!

Searching for alnico warmth, but a bit the same character and brightness as the CS, maybe the VHII's are a good lowerouput alternative. I know exactly what you mean: warmth on different gainlevels, needs to be alnico for me.

I have a set (the very set referred to by Twinfan above, in fact :) ) which I intend to put in my Mira Korina. One day....
Had another set (borrowed from Hunter :) ) in my Tokai SG, briefly. Absolutely loved the neck pickup, I can see where Dave's coming from re. clean tones (on the bridge pickup) but I think they work really well as a calibrated set.
(Nice guitar, by the way! :D )
