Title: Abraxas Pick up Height

Help!
I have fiddling around trying to get the best height for my ne Abraxas Pickups in my PRS Custom 22, has anyone got and measurements to help me with, realy epreciate it .

around 3mm from the strings is my default height for humbuckers - use your ears and adjust from there, only you can know if it sounds right for you.

That's a good starting point. I did some tweaking before I got the sweet spot (Crawler in HSS-swampashstrat).

Thanks Guys, I think it just at the last frets the strings dont sound as ringing clear as say half way up the neck, which I guess is normal?  I am adjusting all the time to get the same sound at the last fret as half way up the neck which i dont seem to be abls to!

Since the last frets are very close together it is more difficult to fret the string accurately. Also, the higher frets do naturally have lower sustain than the frets up to the 12th. Just make sure to set the pickups only so high that the strings are warble-free when fretting the last fret.

Thanks Stephan I have adjusted pickups so I dont have that Flubby sound on low frets, they are low, lower than 3mm more like 4.5. Not as loud but the tone dosent sound so off on the lowwer frets.

I have three PRS's one with Rebel Yells, one with Crawlers and the other with VHII's. The distance that worked on all three on mine was 2.5mm top and bottom E's. I also removed the 180pf caps, as to my ears gives a slightly warmer sound.

At the end of the day its all really down to personal preference.

Thanks for that, I find its hard to get 'Warble' free at the lowest frets unless you realy lower the pickups but it seems you allso lose some of the gritty character and tone of the pickups.

How would you describe difference between Rebell Yells, VH and Crawlers in PRS?
Which of them is more juicy, richer, fatter?
Still looking for tone I would like, tried Nailbombs and HolyDivers, but didn't liked them a lot.
