Ok, I've recently decided on getting Holy Divers for my "Soon to be" Warmoth Soloist. (I'm still torn between Basswood, Alder or Swamp Ash. So any help in that department, I'm all ears).
The thing is, I'm kind of stuck in a rut on whether to get it as a Hardtail, or with a Floyd. I kind of just want to know how the Holy Diver copes with Floyd equipped guitars, and whether the Holy Diver can provide them harmonic divebombs you see Satch/Vai/Van Halen do all the time?
Cheers

Oh I forgot to say, I do use the trem when I play, which kind of leads to the point that I should get one. It's just if a Hardtail would give the guitar a better overall sound, etc. I can always use one of my Ibanez's with a Floyd.
Also any had any experiences with the Graph Tech Piezo Floyd?

We've got them in stock - they look nice
Just waiting to fit one to a Washburn N4 to make it MIDI compatible

How do they compare to the Original Floyd in terms of size, sound and feel?
-
it really boils down to how much you're going to use the trem, and whether or not you plan on changing tunings a lot...
-
Good Floyds are stable if set up right. If you use the trem a lot, then a Floyd is the way to go. I stopped playing those guitars (had a 89 Jem FP) bec I think the Floyd takes something from the tone. Now I would prefer a hardtail. I don't think pinched harmonics and diveboms are a problem for the HD.

just to throw another option into the mix...
floyd with floyd upgrades ''big-block'' - the difference ity made to my jackson was impressive, and it was easier to fit than i'd imagined (thanks youtube!)
i also stuck a tremel-no in to stop any tuning movement when palm muting but i can still dive away to my hearts content... :D

well man, when i think "holy diver" i think Craig Goldie who was a floyd equipped warlock guy. as long as you get the 53 mm spacing it should sing.

I get those harmonic divebombs with a bigsby and tele single coils... I have my methods
it's the player that makes the difference with getting harmonics, you have to know how to emphasise them
of course a holy diver can't hurt as it will make emphasising them easier.
