Not in the forseeable future, Active pickups are a very different beast and work in a very different way to passives.

Ok. but there is a possibility? Do they require a lot more work or something? I've always wondered what was inside emgs  :lol:

Active pickups are wound with very heavy gauge wire with ver few turns, this gives you a very pure tone. The problem is it is also very quiet, so they add a pre-amp and various capacitors and resistors to "sculpt" the tone.
There is very little to them really, and they would require much less work.
I very much doubt that we will make them, for the simple fact that we think that passives sound much better!

Is it possible for a passive bkp single to work in conjunction with an active pickup? I would like to use active and passive together in the same guitar for versatility.

If I remember correctly, there's some problems in trying to do this because I believe Active pickups a higher value of volume/tone control than passive pickups do.

Hopefully sum1 more 'tuned in' than me will reply incase I'm wrong :)

actives work on 25K pots, and dont have a ground wire. but you could, you would have to have two seperate circuts though.

A friend of mind got a guitar with a mix of Seymours and EMG. You need to adapt the volume and impedance of the passive pickups to match the EMG. It's easy, to do that you have to use some EMG PA2 wich are onboard booster but also output low impedance. You need one per passiv pickup and set the boost pot to match the EMG output then put the output to the pickup selector. You also need to use EMG pot for volume and tone control and the PA2 must be always on, so tape those inside the guitar.
That's it :)
